How to Freeze Grapes

  • Rinse
  • De-stem
  • Pat dry with a paper towel or clean kitchen towel
  • Place grapes in a freezer-safe bag
  • Lay the bag flat in your freezer. This is easy to do if you place them on a baking sheet or tray. (Once they’re frozen, you can take the bag off the tray and tuck them wherever they fit.)
  • Be sure your kids can easily reach them for self-serve summer snacking!

What to do with frozen grapes

Eat them right out of the bag! They taste like little bites of sorbet.

How to choose grapes

What’s the white stuff on grapes?

If you’ve ever seen white streaks or coating on grapes (or plums!) at the store and wondered what it was, it’s not pesticide residue. It’s something called “bloom”, which is the fruit’s natural protection against moisture loss. In other words, it’s a good thing! And you can rinse or rub it off before eating

Can young kids have grapes?

Children under the age of four shouldn’t have whole grapes. Cut these into halves (or even quarters) for young kids before freezing, then defrost them a bit so they soften before serving.
