Thank you to ALDI for sponsoring this post!

Even ALDI super fans have what my friend calls “ALDI A-Ha Moments”. Discovering they carry affordable organic milk and eggs? ALDI A-Ha Moment. Finding a wine section with award-winning blends at stellar prices? Definitely an ALDI A-Ha Moment.

All About Buying Wine At ALDI

Wait, ALDI sells wine?!

Yes! Their everyday wine collection includes more than 60 labels, and most cost $10 or less. Throughout the year, they also sell limited-time unique and specialty wines as part of their ALDI Finds program at great prices.

What kind of wine does ALDI carry?

You’ll find whites, reds, rosés, and sparkling wines, plus specialty and seasonal items such as Irish cream, a pre-mixed Mimosa, and Sangria. Their wines hail from the U.S., as well as regions around the world.

Does ALDI sell beer?

They’ve got that too. ALDI carries premium domestic and imported beers such as pale ale, IPA, lager, hard cider, and hard root beer.

HELP! My ALDI doesn’t carry wine!

Due to state and local laws, not all ALDI stores sell wine and beer. Check availability at your local store.

Is beer and wine available every day at ALDI?

That depends. In some states (like Ohio, where I live), wine and beer is not available for sale on Sundays—so plan your shopping trips accordingly!

What’s the Best Wine at ALDI?

ALDI-exclusive wines and cheeses have actually won more awards and recognitions than any other product category. (That’s saying a lot, since 1 in 5 ALDI-exclusive products are award-winning.) For instance, the Belletti Prosecco shown in the Build-Your-Own Mimosa Bar below won a gold medal and “best buy & exceptional” rating at the Beverage Testing Institute World Wine Championship.

I reached out to my Real Mom Nutrition community on Facebook and Instagram about their favorite ALDI wines and here’s some of what they had to say:

The Best ALDI Wines: Winking Owl Variety

There was lots of love for Winking Owl, the most budget-friendly wine at ALDI:

“Winking Owl Cabernet! Holds up against expensive brands!”

“Winking Owl White Zinfandel & Winking Owl Shiraz – love them, love the price. Had a friend describe the Shiraz as ‘kickass’.”

“Winking Owl Moscato. When I tell people that I buy a $3 wine, they make a face — unless they’ve tried it! It’s as good as most $10 wines.”

“Winking Owl Pinot Grigio! As enjoyable to drink as others I’ve recently had in the $12-15 range. Yum!”

How to Create a Build-Your-Own Mimosa Bar

A Build Your Own Mimosa Bar, made with three different kinds of juices, fruits for garnishes, and a bottle of ALDI prosecco.

Mimosas are traditionally made with orange juice and Champagne, but you can pair any bubbly (like Prosecco or other sparkling wines) with a variety of juices and fruit garnishes. Creating a mimosa bar lets everyone customize their own unique cocktail. And buying everything at ALDI lets you do it affordably.

Two glass champagne flutes filled with mimosas, garnished with fruits.

Here’s what you need from ALDI to make this mimosa bar:

  • Belletti prosecco
  • Nature’s Nectar Orange Juice (find it in the refrigerated case)
  • Other varieties of juice such as Simply Nature Organic 100% Super Fruits Juice and Nature’s Nectar Cranberry Pomegranate Cocktail
  • Fresh berries and sliced fruit like lemons, limes, and oranges, raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries (cut a slice in the middle of citrus wedges so guests can slide it onto the side of their glass)
  • Champagne flutes or other slim glasses
Supplies needed to create a build-your-own mimosa bar including fruit garnishes, different kinds of juice, and sparkling wine like prosecco from ALDI.

Mimosas are typically a 1:1 ratio between bubbly and juice. One bottle of Belletti Prosecco will be enough for about six mimosas.
