At our house, we love barbecue sauce for dipping and brushing on grilled meats. I used to buy the bottled kind but wasn’t pleased with some of the ingredients, like preservatives and high fructose corn syrup. This homemade version is sweet and tangy sauce and has quickly became my go-to. And it’s so simple to make.

Thanks for the shout out, Sally, I’ll have to try your version of the barbecue sauce this spring–so glad you’ve discovered the pleasures of making your own, too.

Hi Sally, love the look of this barbecue sauce – we don’t really have powdered garlic here in the UK ( or if we have, I haven’t come across it! ) would fresh work?

Hi Jo–I’m sure you could use fresh garlic. Looks like the conversion is 1 clove = 1/8 tsp. garlic powder. Though you can certainly add more or less to taste!

Great recipe! We have been thinking about making our own BBQ sauce for quite awhile and haven’t done it yet. We eat a lot of BBQ since we live in North Carolina (it is practically the state food lol) so I will try this.

Thanks Courtney. Hope you like it!
