{This giveaway is now closed. Thank you!}
I recently received two new cookbooks from fellow dietitians who are as great in person as they are on page–and they’re giving away a copy of their books to one of you.
The Food Lover’s Healthy Habits Cookbook by Janet Helm (author of the widely read blog Nutrition Unplugged) is part-cookbook, part-healthy-habit-handbook. It outlines 12 Healthy Habit Goals, such as getting three servings of veggies per day and eating more fish. And it offers an action plan and recipes for each one. Plus, there’s a six-week meal plan that pulls it all together.
Why I love this book: It focuses on the kinds of habits that make you healthy inside and out. And adopting these habits means that healthy eating falls into place–it’s not a dreaded chore or a “diet plan”. It also devotes two chapters to helping you set and meet new exercise goals.
And look how gorgeous and useful it is inside:
Clean Eating for Busy Families by Michelle Dudash, a dietitian, mom, and Cordon Bleu-certified chef, features recipes centered around five principles of clean eating, including choosing foods close to their natural state, enjoying a colorful array of foods, and choosing humanely produced foods that are good for the planet.
What I Love About This Book: The idea of “eating clean” can be a confusing concept, and I like how Michelle breaks it down, with “green” and “clean” shopping and eating tips throughout the book. I also appreciate that most of these recipes can be made in 30 minutes or less.
Upon receiving this book, I immediately went to the “Sweet Treats” section and made the Moist, One-Bowl Chocolate Cake (big thumbs up). But there are lots of main dish recipes that your family will enjoy too, like…
Pecan-Crusted Chicken Tenders with Yogurt Dill Dip
and Turkey, Vegetable & Oat Mini-Meatloaves
The winner of this giveaway will receive a copy of both books! To enter, please leave a comment at the end of this post telling me your biggest dinner-time challenge. To increase your odds of winning, you can also leave up to three additional comments:

Disclaimer: I received a free copy of each of these books.

I’ve been in a dinner rut and need inspiration !
My biggest challenge is time management. I have a 3yr old and 7 month old and I struggle with planning meals ahead of time so I can make sure I have all ingredients on hand and put everything together quickly.
I’ve also been following you on Facebook for a while now
Followed Michelle on twitter. Using my iPad so a little challenging to cut and paste it all! Hopefully it still counts.
My biggest dinner time challenge is to have enough energy/motivation left to cook at the end of the day. But now that we’re settling into a new routine since the beginning of the year, I’m tackling the craziness by trying to prep and freeze crock pot dishes ahead so that we can anticipate the toughest days and use those when we know we won’t want/be able to cook in the evening.
I liked your site on Facebook.
My biggest challenge is the chaos going on around me while I cook. My 5 year old and 2 year old are chasing each other screaming. My 2 dogs smell the food, so they want to hang out underfoot. I get stressed and just want food to magically appear on the table.
If I don’t win, I will be buying the second book.
I like Real Mom Nutrition on Facebook.
My biggest challenge is coming up with different meals for 2 picky eaters. I feel like they are always eating the same thing.
Love your site; love cookbooks with healthy meal and snack ideas!
Love the info on your site and FB page, would love to read these books!
My biggest challenge is getting it all done before bedtime. I love to cook from scratch and oftentimes take on too big a task when I could have cheated and fed my hungry brood before they were famished.
Cooking for one when I’m used to cooking for two. My husband will be gone for quite a few months overseas, and this is going to be a huge adjustment.

My biggest challenge is finding healthy foods that my kids will try! It is a daily battle. I would love these books!
I already “like ” you on Facebook!
My biggest dinner challenge is a VERY picky 3 year old and also time. We are running around a lot so getting a healthy meal on the table quickly is another BIG challenge!
My dinner time challenges seem to change by week. Sometimes it’s time management (I have an almost four year old and a seven month old); sometimes it’s not having on hand what I need (planning); sometimes it’s not knowing what to make (planning again, I guess) and sometimes it’s just plain I don’t feel like cooking. We are doing baby-led weaning with #2 and it’s been fun, but it’s challenging to balance everyone’s needs.
(This giveaway was a good idea. It brought me to your blog. I have been following you on FB for awhile, but never clicked over here. Now I’m going to follow your blog and your Pinterest. So, good marketing!)
I really want to get my family to eat clean! Can’t wait to check out that book!
Congratulations to Emily C.! Random.org chose your comment as the winner. Look for an email from me with the details. Thanks to everyone for entering.
Biggest challenge is getting a meal on the table during the work week before baby has to go to bed.
