Some cool stuff has come my way lately, so I thought I’d share it with you. I’ll be hosting a different giveaway every day for four days.
Since I’ve been sidelined from running and jumping (thanks a lot, old knees!), walking has been my exercise of choice. That, and trying to stay as active as I can during the day.
I really like wearing a pedometer because I love the challenge of trying to get 10,000 steps a day, the amount recommended to avoid weight gain. When I wear my pedometer, I’m more likely to take the stairs instead of the elevator, park farther away, and do errands on foot instead of by minivan.
Reebok is giving away an InColor Digital Pedometer, which tracks steps, distance, speed, calories burned, and total time in motion to one Real Mom Nutrition reader.

To enter the giveaway, leave a comment at the end of this post telling me how you fit exercise into your very busy day. To increase your odds, you can also:
- “Like” Real Mom Nutrition on Facebook here, then leave me another comment telling me that you did.
- Tweet about the giveaway, then leave me another comment that includes a copy of your tweet.
The giveaway ends Sunday, March 18 at noon. I’ll choose a winner at random through Random.org‘s number generator.
Disclaimer: Reebok sent me a free InColor Digital Pedometer for my own use as well.

i do short, power-packed hiit workouts to get the most out of the 20 minutes i have to spare!

To boost my activity — I take the dog for one extra 15-20 minute walk each day and I’ve started adding in 10 minute rounds of tabata drills of jump rope or shadowboxing. And in case I need some more ideas, I go to my Nike Training Club app for one of their 15 minute “focused” workouts.

I add little fitness moves throughout the day. Blending something? I do calf raises. I do leg stretches while I’m waiting for something to heat up on the stove. I run up the stairs! Sit straight when I study (okay, some of the time!)
i don’t make excuses, and i make running a priority. 6 days a week, no matter what!

I always wanted to know – does it count if you don’t manage to get exercise for 4 days and then on saturday you do 90 minutes – is this equivalent to 3 days training?! I can never find the time, except on weekends.
I chase my children around, make it a point to walk my son to school and to the library instead of driving, and usually end up carrying my 30lb 2yo some time during the day, which adds some weight-bearing exercise in there.
I wake up early so I can get a workout in before my boys get up. Both my husband and I do this and it works great. A great start to the day.

Well to workout I have to get up before the sun and my two kids. If I don’t get up before those three I have to wait until nap time and hope my two year old takes a nap. It’s safer to just get up.
I run first thing in the morning while my husband takes care of our daughter’s breakfast. Then it’s out of the way, I feel better all day, and my husband gets some one on one time with his daughter.

I try to exercise first thing in the morning right after I drive my kids to school.
I exercise after my kids go to bed at night. Most people’s response to this is “Aren’t you exhausted then?” Yes, I am, but not as exhausted as I would be if I got up at 5am to do it. It is a major stress release for me after dealing with 3 kids all day. And contrary to what all of the studies usually say, it helps me sleep better. My elliptical machine sits in front of a 50″ plasma TV. If I’m going to watch TV, might as well watch it on the elliptical.
I bet I take a 20K steps a day. Nervous energy! I’d love to know for sure. Thanks for the fun give aways & the always awesome blog!

My goal is to exercise 10 minutes every day. That seems doable to me. Sometimes I do a DVD and other days it is core exercises on the floor while the kiddos play.
I try to get my excercise in right after work, but before I pick the kids up from the sitter’s….doesn’t always happen, but on occasion I can get about 30 min of cardio in. Man, that does a lot for the mental release at the end of the day…that’s for sure!
Well, I’m not doing a great job of it right now. But my spring sport is starting soon and that always “forces” me to show up. And I walk home from work when I can, plus climb the 3 flights of stairs in our house often. (No, really, I forgot my shoes ON PURPOSE, so I could get more exercise.)

To fit exercise in everyday, I make sure I plan the day BEFORE! I look at my schedule for the day and find a spot I can get a workout in
